Squadron Burgee Heraldry:
On December 2, 1954, at our ninth business meeting, five sample pennants proposed for the Squadron were submitted. The membership selected by vote the design to be submitted to the United States Power Squadrons for adoption.'' The tall monument is known as Jones Beach State Park water tower used for the pool, school children call it a pencil, I don't know why the colors were chosen. The gold boarder was added after the 50th anniversary,I think that it is a good ideal to have little history with the Burgee. Cdr. Bob Dearing
